Srinagar – Wishing people of the state a happy Eid Ul- Azha Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and president Mehbooba Mufti have prayed for better days ahead for the state.
In a statement issued here today the Muftis said it was unfortunate that such a great day had coincided with unprecedented economic distress, skyrocketing prices and the non availability of essential commodities like cooking gas, electricity and K-oil. They said while it was an occasion to recall the great sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), the people of the state who had been traditionally celebrating this day with festivity and fervor are finding them selves in the midst of unprecedented problems of survival.
The PDP leaders said in absence of a political direction the administration was finding it impossible to respond to mounting miseries of the people in which it had become difficult for people to light their homes or run the kitchens. The electricity is becoming costlier as much as unavailable and cooking gas crisis had hit every aspect of life. They said people are finding themselves at the end of their patience, but we hope that the community responds with traditional empathy for the poor and under privileged that has been a hallmark of our society through ages.
