Srinagar – Asking the officers to work in synergy, the minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that the same is necessary for ensuring a fool proof mechanism so that people do not face any inconvenience during the ensuing Eid festivities.
The minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to monitor the arrangements put in place for the ensuing Eid.
Vice chairman WAKF Board MY Qadri, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr. Asgar Samoon, District Development Commissioner Srinagar, . Baseer Ahmed Khan, Chief Engineers PDD, R&B, PHE, RTO Kashmir, DIG Traffic, and other senior officers of various departments like CAPD, health, JKSRTC, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Municipality etc were present.
The Minister directed the Chief Engineer PDD to ensure that the power schedule already notified by the government is strictly adhered to and people should not be subjected to unnecessary power cuts during these days. He also asked the chief Engineer PHE to see that the people get uninterrupted water supply during the Eid days.
Sagar also directed the DIG traffic to ensure that the proper navigation of traffic should be done so that the frequency of traffic jams can be arrested for the general convenience of the public. He also asked the RTO to ensure that public transport should ply especially during the late and wee hours so that general people do not face any inconvenience.
The Divisional Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that the government has already notified the rates for Poultry/Mutton and in this regard instructions have already been passed down the line to ensure that any deviation from the same is strictly dealt with. He also informed the meeting that the rates for sacrificial animals has also been notified and several places have been identified from where the public can get the same.
