Srinagar: Former Rajya Sabha member and senior leader of opposition National Conference (NC), Ghulam Nabi Ratanpuri, on Tuesday criticized the PDP-BJP government over the use pepper gas on protesters in Pulwama yesterday during protests against the killing of a local Lashkar militant.
Speaking to reporters at Pulwama, the NC leader slammed the incumbent government for ordering the government forces to deal with the protestors with pepper gas. The PDP was earlier targeting us (NC government) for using pepper gas but now they are defending police over the use of peppers against protesters, he said.
Terming the PDP-BJP coalition government a failure in every prospect, the senior NC leader said that PDP is unable to recall the tragic events that have unfolded since they came to power in alliance with BJP.
Meanwhile, the NC spokesperson, Junaid Azim Mattu said: PDPs failure to ensure the safety and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir s a known fact as the PDP-BJP Government had brought nothing but destruction, humiliation and misery for the people of the State, he said.
The protestors are dealt with pepper gas and tear gas canisters, which release deadly chemicals and become dangerous for the health of the people particularly the aged, children and the ailing they need to be stopped for using against Kashmiris, he added.
