Srinagar- The Chest Diseases (CD) Hospital in Dalgate continues to function from its heritage building as plans for a new multi-story facility remain stalled due to administrative delays, the government informed the Legislative Assembly.
In response to a question by MLA Ahsan Pardesi, the Health and Medical Education Department confirmed that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new G+4 building had been prepared but not approved due to pending clarifications from the Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC).
The project also faced setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent merger of JKPCC with the Public Works Department (PWD). The government now intends to draft a fresh DPR aligned with current cost estimates and necessary approvals.
