Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said that its intention is to establish new housing colonies to address the growing demand for affordable housing across the Union Territory.
In a reply to a question raised by Ch. Vikram Randhawa, the Housing and Urban Development Department stated that proposals for establishing new housing colonies will be placed in the upcoming meetings of the Board of Directors of the concerned authorities for approval.
The department also mentioned that after the proposals are approved, the financial allocations earmarked for these projects will be worked out accordingly.
This move is seen as a step towards catering to the rising housing needs of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
