Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday denied any stoppage of ration to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families due to verification issues.
In response to a query by MLA Mir Saifullah, the government stated that all eligible households are receiving their entitled food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and at subsidised rates under the Non-Priority Household (NPHH) category.
Minister in charge, department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs said that no ration has been halted due to verification-related concerns.
“All eligible households/beneficiaries are getting food grains as per their entitlement/approved scales, free of cost under NFSA and at highly subsidized rates under the NPHH group,” he said.
