JAMMU: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Monday reviewed the progress on 4 Lane Srinagar-Jammu National Highway construction in a meeting, he chaired here.
Chief Secretary received brief on the action taken with respect to the directions given earlier to address issues impeding the construction work in certain portions of the National Highway.
Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Anantnag, Ramban, Udhampur reported substantial progress in addressing listed bottlenecks primarly related to land acquisition and award, removal of structures and trees.
Chief Secretary issued clear instructions to Divisional Commissioners, DCs, Revenue Department, NHAI and concessionaires to ensure further progress in resolving all pending bottlenecks impeding smooth and expeditious construction of the National Highway.
Chief Secretary also reviewed the status of the Udhampur Srinagar Rail Link Project and pending issues in Katra- Banihal Section related to land indents and construction of power transmission lines.
Principal Secretary Home, Principal Secretary Forests, Commissioner Secretary PDD, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Jammu, Commissioner Secretary R&B and other senior officers were also present.
