SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik Wednesday faced a noisy protest by thje activists of Shiv Sena in Jammu.
Scores of rightwing Hindu activists gathered outside the hotel, Malik was staying and raised slogans against the pro-independence leader. Activists hurled invectives at the Malik who is in Jammu to offer condolences to the family of veteran journalist Ved Bhasin who died there last month.
They (Shiv Sena) raised slogans against me outside the hotel where I was staying, Malik said adding that he was abused by the protesters. However, I am safe since I was inside the hotel.
Hindu right-wing activists have been on the offensive after BJP-PDP government came to power in the state last year.
Earlier independent MLA was attacked besides a number of Kashmiri truckers were targeted which lead to death of one in Udhampur district.
