Poonch: Protests erupted on Friday following the re-opening of a wine bar in border district of Mendhar.
Reports said that the district administration after frequent complaints from locals had sealed Sharma Bar and Restaurant at Mendhar town and Shah Bar and Restaurant at Bhimber Gali Balakote over a month ago.
One Sharma Bar and Restaurant initiated its business illegally today, which caught the public attention. Argument broke out between the shop owner and the locals, which was pacified by the timely intervention of the local police.
The people on the occasion appealed the district administration for permanent closure of the establishment owing to its nearness to public places viz. mosques and schools, reports added.
