Srinagar: The students of LLM at University of Kashmir are in extreme distress as the Varsity has failed to conduct a single exam in last 12 months, since their admission for two years course.
The LLM students, who requested not to be named, said the admission notification for the course was announced in August last year and the admission test was conducted in November last year. Despite a year since then, the students complained that the varsity authorities have failed to conduct their semester exams causing immense loss of time.
The students said the varsity was expected to conduct the first semester exam before August; six months after the admission to the course, and the second semester exam should have been conducted this month or next. Ironically, the university has failed to conduct any of the exams for LLM course so far.
The delay in the exams has thrown the students into despair and depression as university authorities have appeared reluctant to take their pleas seriously.
The students also claimed their classes are not being conducted on regular basis and they are made to wait for hours and told to go home at the end of the day.
The non-serious attitude of the university, which is the oldest in the region and is rated high by NAAC, has forced the students into a state of depression.
“The way the university authorities are behaving, the two year LLM course will end in five years. They are ruining our lives and they are not even worried about it,” a student said.
Dean Faculty of Law Muhammad Ayoub Dar admitted that they faced some internal problems this year but added that faculty is ready now to conduct the exam at the end of November this month. CNS
