Srinagar- Churches across the Kashmir Valley, including the Holy Family Catholic Church in Srinagar, are abuzz with preparations as the region gets ready to celebrate Christmas on Wednesday.
Church premises across the valley have been adorned with decorative lights, and the festive spirit is palpable. People wearing Christmas caps have been seen in Srinagar and other parts of the valley, actively participating in the arrangements.
A grand celebration is planned, featuring a range of activities to mark the joyous occasion. There is excitement among people, with many seen on the streets of Srinagar city wearing Christmas caps.
Churches across the valley are eagerly anticipating the festival. Joseph, a local, who goes by his first name, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, expressed his excitement, saying, “Christmas is not just about celebrations; it is about spreading love and joy. The atmosphere at the church is heartwarming, and I can’t wait for tomorrow’s festivities.”
Other churches in the valley are also expected to attract large gatherings. Celebrations are set to begin on Tuesday night in many locations, with special prayer services scheduled for early Wednesday morning, followed by cultural programs and community gatherings at various churches across the valley.
