JAMMU – A three-day FAM tour by the Department of Tourism was flagged off for Bhaderwah by Secretary Tourism, Farooq Ahmed Shah from Jammu Tawi Golf Course Sidhra today.
A short tour for 55 delegates associated with the Tourism and Travel industry has been organized to familiarize them with the attractions of the Bhaderwah circuit.
Among others Director Tourism Jammu R.K. Varma, Deputy Director Tourism S.K. Atri, Chairman Tourism Federation of Jammu, Rajesh Gupta besides other senior officers of Tourism department were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary Tourism said that Jammu has a vast tourism potential and government is keen to develop the major tourist destinations to increase tourist footfall in these areas. He said that it is a step towards realizing the aim of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to promote Jammu as an independent tourism destination. He said that such visits will help the stakeholders associated with the tourism industry and the tourist to know about the various unexplored tourist destinations and array of related activities specially adventure tourism eco-tourism etc .
It is pertinent to mention here that a one day convention of Buyers and Sellers of Tourism and Travel Trade will be chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh. The delegates on FAM Tour will also interact with the Chief Executive Officers of Patnitop Development Authority and Bhaderwah Development Authority and other stakeholders of J&K Tourism.
The tour will reach Bhaderwah on 15th November and also visit Patnitop, Sanasar and other places of tourist attraction.
