Srinagar- The Traffic Police Office, Rural Kashmir, on Tuesday urged motorists with pending traffic challans to clear their dues immediately, failing which strict action will be taken.
Motorists are directed to pay the fine amount on the Parivahan platform or virtual court portals or appear before the Lok Adalat benches at the District Court Srinagar by December 14, 2024, an official said.
Despite repeated appeals through public notices and media channels, a significant number of vehicles with multiple challans continue to operate on roads, a senior traffic cop said, as per news agency KNO.
However, he warned that strict legal action will follow from December 16, 2024, against defaulters, which may include the seizure of vehicles or cancellation of Registration Certificates (RCs).
Motorists are advised to act promptly to avoid penalties.
