Police identifying people instigating youth for stone pelting
SRINAGAR: Days after a youth was killed by the Central Reserve Police force in HMT Srinagar, the Director General of Police (DGP) K. Rajendra Kumar Tuesday said that investigation into the killing is on and those who are found guilty will be punished as per law.
Everything will be cleared and case will be thoroughly investigated as loss of any innocent life is highly condemnable. Law will take its own course. Whosoever is found guilty will be punished, the DGP told KNS over phone from Jammu.
I express my deep grief with the family of the slain youth. I have directed the Police to investigate the matter thoroughly, the DGP said.
Dar,21, an engineering student of SSM, was killed by security forces in Zainakote in Srinagar outskirts on Saturday barely few hours after Prime Minister left Srinagar after addressing his much-hyped rally here.
He said that he has asked the investigating authorities to submit the report as soon as possible.
The Director General of Police, however, refused to divulge any details about the investigation, saying that till the investigation into the youths killing is not completed, no final word can be said over it.The Magisterial enquiry has started. We just began the investigations. Nothing can be said about investigation yet. Let us wait till the investigations are over, Rajindra said.
Meanwhile the DGP said that the police would act strictly against trouble mongers.
We will not allow anybody to violate law and order in the valley. Whosoever violates law would be dealt strictly, he said.
Hinting that police would go tough against the stone pelting incidents, the DGP said that police are identifying the people behind the stone pelting. We are identifying the people who are involved or are behind stone pelting. After identification strict action under the law will be taken, the DGP warned.
Meanwhile, police has booked 44 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force for attempt to murder in Gowhar Ahmad Dars killing and started investigations into it.
Police has registered FIR no. 289/2015 under sections 307, 147, 148, 149, 352, 36, 332 against CRPF in police station Parimpora in Srinagar outskirts. (KNS)
