Baramulla: The sale of medicines in unauthorized drug shops is posing severe threat to the people as more than two dozen such shops operate in Pattan and its adjacent areas of North Kashmirs Baramulla district.
Reports said that besides the operation of unlicensed and unauthorized drug shops unqualified and inexperienced staff sells drugs to attendants and patients in these medical stores, particularly located at Hyderbeg Pattan.
Public Health experts say that procuring medicines from pharmacists without prescription for minor ailments is a common practice in other places also.
Reacting on the issue, Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir, Dr Irfana, said that it is really a serious matter. We will sure send a team for inspection and all the unlicensed drug stores will be closed, she said.
