JAMMU: On opening of biannual durbar in winter capital today, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar, paid tributes to brave martyrs at Police Martyrs Memorial, Railhead along with senior police officers and inspected Police Headquarters (PHQ) and other moving police establishments, that resumed functioning here this morning, following annual durbar move.
At the memorial, Mr. Rajendra highlighted sacrifices made by the brave cops in the line of duty, and said that JKP has a rich tradition of sacrifices in safeguarding people and maintaining law and order in the State.
Mr. Rajendra later visited PHQ where he was received by senior police officers and presented guard of honour by a contingent of Armed Police.
Accompanied by ADGP Headquarters, Mr. S.P. Vaid and other senior police officers, the DGP visited various sections of PHQ and took stock of functioning of the said sections.
