Srinagar: The city of Srinagar will host the National Conference on Temperate Fruits and Nuts from November 06 to 09, 2015. The conference is being jointly organised by the Horticulture Society of India, New Delhi and Indian Council of Agriculture Researchs Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar.
The main focus of the conference will be to discuss the present status and a way forward for enhancing the productivity and quality of temperate fruits and nuts with major focus on apple, pear, peach, apricot, cherry, almond and walnut. Stakeholders actively involved in horticultural research and development like scientists, teachers, students, industries, nurserymen, farmers and entrepreneurs will participate in this national event.
Besides presentations, the event will also feature theme based scientist-farmer and scientist-industry interactions. Some of the themes that will be covered during the four-day conference include Genetic Resource Management, Insect Pest Dynamics and their Management, Efficient Input Management and Farming Systems, Post Harvest Value Addition and Marketing and Emerging Frontier Areas.
