SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday arrested four youth for circulating obscene video of a girl which was shot forcibly by them in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
Official sources disclosed that police have registered a case against the gang of youth including alleged kingpin Riyaz Ahmad Bhat of Wadipora.
Confirming it, SP Handwara Jeelani Wani said that a special team under the supervision of SDPO Mir Ifroz would be investigating the matter.
He said the team would comprise of SHO Handwara Abdul Qayoom, Sub Inspector Masror Ahmad of Zachaldara and SI Abdul Majeed.
More arrests in the case were expected, the officer said, adding, an FIR (No. 290) under Section 509 RPC and 67 IT Act has been lodged with police station Handwara.
Meanwhile locals in Handwara and adjacent areas have hailed police action and have demanded stern action against the accused.
