JAMMU Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh today said that the people affected by border shelling have been shifted to safer shelters where they are being provided every facility.
State Government is fully committed to provide food, shelter, medical facilities to the victims and the arrangements for the same are being monitored and reviewed by the Ministers, he told media on the sideline of function organized to mark celebration of Jammu Kashmirs accession to India on this day of October 26.
Deputy Chief Minister said accession of J&K is a very important event in the history of India and for this he gave full credit to Maharaja Hari Singh, who was ruling the state at that time. He said the accession was later endorsed by the National Conference led by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah as well.
Admiring the far sightedness of Maharaja Hari Singh, the Deputy CM said he acceded to the largest and vibrant democracy of the World by signing Instrument of Accession with India on October 26, 1947 for the benefit of the people of the state.
Members of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas, Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment Bali Bhagat, MLA Jammu West Sat Paul Sharma, MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, MLCs Ashok Khajuria and Ajatshatru Singh besides various political leaders were present on the occasion.
