SRINAGAR: Ahead of protest call by pro-freedom leaders on Friday, police have decided to impose restrictions in areas falling under the jurisdiction of seven police stations, including in the old city.
The restrictions would be imposed in areas falling under Maharaj Gunj, Nowhatta, Rainawari, Safa Kadal, Khanyar police stations of the old city and Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations in uptown.
The decision to impose restrictions was taken in view of the call of protest by pro-freedom leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq against the killing of Zahid Rasool by arsonists in Udhampur.
Pertinently, the Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has invited JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik and Geelani for joint protest demonstration at Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta Friday.
