Srinagar: Disgruntled Peoples Democratic Party leader and Member Parliament Tariq Hameed Karra Thursday suggested party leadership to revisit about the alliance with the Bhartiya Janata Party. He said that what RSS could not achieve in last 60 years achieved that from last six months. RSS is directly ruling and interfering in Kashmir affairs and the Muslims who are in majority are feeling insecure.
If PDP did not part its ways with the RSS sponsored BJP, then soon in every street and lane, Dadri like lynching incidents will take place in Jammu and Kashmir, Karra told Srinagar based news agency CNS adding that RSS and its sister organizations have no right to dictate terms to people of Kashmir.
Karra said that RSS backed BJP members dared to beat up a Kashmri legislator in Legislative Assembly and if PDP continues to rule with the support of BJP in the state, the Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir will be alienated and that will disastrous for Peoples Democratic Party.
Responding to a question, Karra said that his stand is well-known in India as well as in Kashmir. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in Kashmir is not good. I strongly condemn the police brutality and use of pepper tear gas shells against the youth protesting in South Kashmir. Instead of doing anything better for young population the present Government has been working on a dangerous mission to make them feel insecure. The youth of Kashmir have faced torture, abuse and humiliation during last more than five years of NC-Congress regime, and now the present dispensation is surpassing all benchmarks of brutality, he said.
Karra said that the government cannot suppress the voice of youth using such draconian and barbaric methods. Police brutality and handcuffing of youth is highly atrocious and undemocratic. The government repression is forcing the youth to take up the extreme steps. The hand holding of the youth has actually been through handcuffing. I wonder where that healing touch is, he questioned.
