Deputy CM pays tributes to martyrs
JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh Wednesday paid tributes to BSF martyrs and honoured their family members here, at a function organized by Border Security Force (BSF) – Frontier Headquarter, Jammu to mark golden jubilee celebrations of Border Force National Police Day.
At the function, rich tributes were paid to BSF personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty while protecting frontiers of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM said that besides paying tributes to the martyrs, there is also need to look after their families.
The brave jawans of our country put their life at risk to safeguard our borders and in return we should also ensure that their parents, families are not left alone, he added.
Highlighting the role of belt forces in securing the borders and maintaining internal peace, Deputy Chief Minister said security forces including Indian Army, Border Security Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Central Reserve Police force have done commendable service to the country by fighting enemies within and outside.
The Deputy Chief Minister also honoured family members of martyred BSF personnel by presenting shawl and citation.
