SRINAGAR: Sri Pratap (Model) higher Secondary Institute, in collaboration with the Institute of Mathematical Sciences J&K, organized one- day outreach programme Tuesday. The aim of the programme was to inculcate interest among the students for opting Mathematics at plus two level and higher education. Prof. Asiya Siddiqi, Director of IMS was the chief guest on the occasion while Reyaz Ahmad Siddiqi, Principal SP HSS Srinagar presented the welcome address. More than one hundred students participated in the programme. Prof Sameer and Prof Saleem delivered lectures on the subjects.
On this occasion the speakers stressed on the need to make mathematics reading and learning a fun so that students get more and more interest in the subject. Students interacted with the speakers regarding the pros and cons of the topic.
Prof Asiya Siddiqi in her lecture informed the audience that this was the third programme of the series initiated by the Institute of Mathematical Sciences J&K. She said that the institute is going to organize more such programmes in future in collaboration with other educational institutions of the state.
