KUPWARA, OCTOBER 20: NABARD in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, today conducted a district level farmers interface programme at Agriculture complex Kupwara.
The programme was aimed at giving information of latest technologies in Agriculture sector. The members of various farmers club formed under NABARD/farmers clubs scheme attended the said programme besides a large number of progressive farmers of the district.
The programme was held in collaboration with Agriculture Department. Experts from KVK, Horticulture/Banks and other district level officers were present.
DDM, NABARD urged upon the farmers to form more farmers clubs so as to avail the benefits of various schemes. He said NABARD provides support to farmers clubs for their functioning.
On this occasion Chief Agriculture Officer, Kupwara impressed upon the farmers to adopt the best practices in farming. He asked the farmers to buy certified seeds only and go for soil testing which is provided in the district. Scientist from KVK, Agriculture and Horticulture delivered lectures and threw light on the proper use of fertilizers, ect.
Farmers expressed their happiness over the programme and requested NABARD to conduct more such programmes.
