Srinagar: Two youths were arrested on Saturday in forest area of Baramulla district of north Kashmir when they were heading towards the Line of Control (LoC) allegedly for crossing over to Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK).
A senior army officer said that a tip off was received about some youths trying to cross the fence for arms training there.
He said armys 17 JAK Rifles deployed in the area successfully apprehended the two boys before they could ex-filtrate in upper belt of Peerniya forest area near LoC of Boniyar in the district.
The official identified the youths as Muzaffar Ahmad Malla (24) son of Ghulam Nabi of Hajin and Sajad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman of Batpora village in Khudwani area of Kulgam district.
Meanwhile, sources told GNS that the duo was later handed over to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) Baramulla for further questioning.
Pertinently, On September 01, 2014, four teenagers from Sopore were arrested by army near LoC in forest area of Hafruda, Handwara in Kupwara district.
