LUCKNOW:- In a bid to promote Pilgrimage tourism of J&K at domestic market, a team of J&K Tourism department led by Special Secretary Tourism and Culture Mr. M.H. Mir participated in 3-day Indian Travel Mart-2015 at Lucknow which was inaugurated by Secretary Tourism Uttar Pardesh, the other day.
Among others who participated in Indian Travel Mart-2015 are Deputy Director Tourism (Central) Kashmir, Peerzada Zahoor, Manager JKTDC, New Delhi, Mr, C.B. Kaul and Bashrat Ahmad, besides members of various travel associations of J&K.
Meanwhile, a road-show was also organized by JK Tourism in Hotel Clarks Awadh on the side lines of Indian Travel Mart at Lucknow to promote all tourism related products of JK particularly the Pilgrimage. A video presentation on pilgrimage circuits of the state was also presented during the road show in which large number of domestic buyers, members from print and electronic media and other stake holders participated.
Mr. M.H. Mir said that the ITM provides an opportunity to the states having tourism potential to have business with domestic buyers from across the country, saying that J&K Tourism has also participated in ITM Lucknow to grab the opportunity for business with domestic buyers to promote pilgrimage and other tourism products of the state.
Special Secretary said that on the directions of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Tourism Department is making every effort to promote pilgrimage tourism in the domestic market in a big way as J&K State is known as the place of Sufis and Sants. He said that department has launched various promotional activities to aware the people of all faiths about religious places of the state with historical background, adding that all the three regions of the state possess inclusive pilgrimage circuits. He hoped that ITM Lucknow would provided a platform to JK Tourism department to promote their products.
In the first day of the event, large number of domestic buyers visited J&K tourism stalls and interacted with tourism, tour and travel bodies for business.
