SRINAGAR: Governor N.N. Vohra has highlighted the critical role of IAS officers in the implementation of the unfinished agenda of nation building.
He asked the officers to rededicate themselves to the service of people, particularly the poor and the disadvantaged sections of society. He was delivering the Valedictory Address at the Mid-Career Training Programme for IAS officers who have 27-32 years of service at New Delhi today.
The programme, organised by the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, is being attended by 97 senior IAS officers who are presently working with the Government of India and the various State Governments/UTs.
The Governor dwelt in detail on historic evolution of the civil services in pre-independence and post-independence India and commented on the challenges being faced by the IAS officers in the States, in the context of the rising aspirations of the people at large, viewed in the backdrop of inadequate delivery of services.
