Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Thursday requested the government to take “all such steps” necessary to fill up the vacancy of the Chairman of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission within a reasonable period of time.
“This Court has been also informed that ever since the State Commission has been reconstituted, the State Commission is without a Chairman who should be a Retired High Court Judge,” a division bench of Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani. “We request the UT Government to take all such steps necessary to fill up the vacancy of the Chairman of the State Commission within a reasonable period of time,” the court said while hearing a related matter in this regard. The court posted the case for further consideration on October 10.
