KUPWARA: Extremely upbeat with the exhilarating experience of having been to various places of historical, cultural, financial and religious importance, the group of Maulvies and elders returned to a warm reception in Sharifabad from a 10 days visit to Delhi, Hydrabad organised by the Army.
The tour which had commenced on 02 Oct was organised by the Army at Kupwara for 20 local elders and Maulvies from Langate to Hydrabad as part of Army’s continued efforts to spread awareness among the locals.
The aim of this tour was to educate, motivate and create consciousness among the elders to know the diverse culture of the nation and encourage greater involvement in the service of mankind. During the tour the participants got an opportunity to visit historical & cultural places of interest like Hari Niwas Palace, Bagh-e-Bahu Fort.
Jammu, Central University, Jammia Masjid, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk : Delhi, Char Minar, Mecca Masjid, Ramoji Film City, Golconda Fort, Birla Planetarium, High Tech City, Hussain Sagar Lake : Hyderabad. The tour members also went for Metro Train ride in Delhi. The tour participants were appreciative of the efforts of Army for organising the awareness tour for the elders who hardly get an opportunity to visit outside the Valley.
