SRINAGAR: State Government Saturday revealed that electric network in Kashmir Valley particularly in rural areas is in a deteriorated condition as the existing electric poles and conductors are decades old which need immediate replacement.
In response to a question raised by PDP legislator Muhammad Abbas Wani, the Minister of State for Power Muhammad Ashraf Bhat informed the House that worn out electric poles are threat to life and property while the Power Department is trying its level best and remains vigilant to avoid any mishap. The Minister said that the department is improving and strengthening the existing network.
