SRINAGAR: Prime Ministers Office (PMO) and the Ministry for Home Affairs (MHA) have maintained that neither National Conference nor Peoples Democratic Party have submitted any proposal on Autonomy or Self-Rule with them.
This was stated by them in response to a query filed under RTI Act by a Kashmiri lawyer from Sopore Advocate Irfan Hafiz.
The applicant had sought replies from the Government of India whether PDP has submitted any document with regard to Self-Rule and whether National Conference has made any recommendation to GoI to grant autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir since 2008. The reply furnished by the Prime Ministers Office and the Ministry for Home Affairs vide number A-43020/1/15 maintains that the information sought by the applicant is not available in records.
Pertinently, both NC and PDP are vociferously raising the issue of Self-Rule and Autonomy especially during their election campaigns. The information provided by the Government of India, no documents pertaining to Self-Rule and Autonomy have been submitted by these parties to the Government of India.
