Family suspects foul play in youth’s death in Saudi Arabia

Urges MEA to take up matter with Saudi authorities 

SRINAGAR: A Srinagar youth Younis Musharaf Rasheed Bhat son of Abdul Rasheed Bhat of Alamdar Colony Lal Bazar who was working at Madina in Saudia Arabia died mysteriously in Jeddah hospital on Monday.

“The deceased was working in a construction company in Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and was scheduled to fly from Jeddah to New Delhi on Sept 29, 2015 as his marriage ceremony was scheduled to be held on October 11, 2015,” family souces informed.

 “He left from Madina on the intervening night of 25th and 26th September 2015 in a bus with 4 pieces of luggage. He was due to reach his company accommodation at Jeddah for completion of travel formalities. However, he did not reach there. He was not reachable on his phone till 1st October 2015. An unknown caller informed his father that he (Jamsheed) has sustained injuries in an accident and is admitted in a government hospital at Jeddah. Without conveying complete information he disconnected the line,” family sources said.

 “His whereabouts could finally be traced through facebook at 3 am on 2nd October. He was lying in coma in King Abdullah Medical Complex Jeddah with his condition deteriorating with each passing hour. He finally lost the battle of life on 5th Oct 2015.”

“All his luggage could not traced and only 6 Riyals were found in his wallet. We doubt it to be a case of robbery where he was hit on his head with some hard object as there was not even a scratch on his body,” they said.

They appealed Indian embassy to take up the case with the officials of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for investigation. “We suspect that he was murdered. We hope Indian consulate would take up the matter with KSA to ascertain the cause of death,” family members added.
