SRINAGAR: Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Thursday assured the House of a speedy trial so as to hand out exemplary punishment to those found guilty of burning Mehjabeen in Khanyar area of Srinagar district on September 25.
He also directed Police to fast-track investigation in cases related to violence against women so that the guilty are brought to justice.
Describing violence against women as a matter of serious concern, the Chief Minister assured of speedy trial in all such cases so that people responsible for such heinous crimes get maximum punishment prescribed under law.
