SRINAGAR: All India Fair Price Retailers Foundation (AIFPRF) working President Prahlad Modi Tuesday asked Government to take corrective measures to improve the economic conditions of fair price shop dealers.
Modi who is on a visit to the Valley these days, said that Government should either increase the commission rate to Rs 200 per quintal or induct the dealers as government employees. He also asked to the increase the number of ration card holders from 250 to 500 per dealer.
Modi said that he was hopeful that government would accept their demands before the implementation of Food Security Bill in the state.
Referring to PDS Control Act, Wednesday Modi said that as per this act both LPG and FP dealers should be treated equally.
CAPD Employees Association State President, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, and All J&K FP Shopkeepers Association President, Abdul Rahim Shah were present on the occasion.
