SRINAGAR: For the better understanding of J&K State Right to Information Act, 2009, the State Information Commission (SIC) Wednesday published a booklet elucidating the various provisions of the transparency law.
The booklet will have references from various Supreme Court and High Court decisions on transparency law. Besides, it will also provide information on the decisions taken by the Commission in accordance with the law.
The Commission while hoping that the reference book will go a long way in understanding the basics of the law said that both information seekers as well as information givers should follow a judicial process.
The Commission stated that the J&K Right to Information Act, 2009 is not an administrative act but a judicial process.
Assuring immediate resolution of the issues, the Commission said that it will reconcile and resolve the conflicts in accordance with the provisions of the J&K RTI Act.
