SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon, today convened a meeting to review the preparation for Cleanliness Campaign to be started from October 07, 2015.
The Chief Minister during his recent visit to Gulmarg had ordered launching of such a campaign.
The Divisional Commissioner directed all the concerned to start the campaign vigorously by involving various departments, educational institutions, municipal committees, civil societies, Red Cross Societies and NGOs. He stressed upon advertising the campaign through print and electronic media besides installing banners and hoardings at specific places so as to involve more people in it.
The Divisional Commissioner also directed Municipal Committees to initiate another sanitation programme around tourist places in their respective areas.
A Programme timeline was also issued by the Divisional Commissioner for the campaign falling under the jurisdiction of tourism sector. On October 07, 2015 the campaign will be held at Nishat, Shalimar, Harwan Gardens and Mansabal, on October 08, 2015, Chari-sharief and Yousmarg and, on October 09, 2015 Achabal, Kokernag and Verinag would be taken up for cleanliness drive. The cleanliness programme shall also be taken at Bangus and Lolab on October 10, 2015, at Gulmarg on October 11, 2015 and at Shopian and Aharbal on October 12, 2015.
