SRINAGAR: The J&K Government Tuesday said the decision to build an Industrial Estate in Tral has been revoked in light of a ruling by the Supreme Court.
In reply to a question by Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, MLA Tral, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, informed the house that the previous government had identified 177 kanals of land in Takia Razak Shah of Tral for setting up an Industrial Estate.
“Revenue papers were prepared and forwarded to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. However, the Revenue Department has not agreed to the establishment of the industrial estate owing to Apex Court judgment in a case titled Jagpal Singh and others V/S State of Punjab and Others,” Mr Ganga said.
The Minister said an alternate suitable land for establishing the industrial estate at Tral is being identified.
