Asks RSS to invoke Kurukshetra resolution on J&K trifurcation
Jammu: Asserting that all or nearly all Kashmiri leaders are rabidly anti-Jammu and anti-Ladakh, fundamentally sectarian, exclusivist in their approach and protagonists of limited or no accession of J&K with India, BJP ideologue Prof Hari Om today made a passionate appeal to the RSS to invoke its June 30, 2002 Kurukshetra resolution on trifurcation of the state.
He said the division of the state is imperative to defend and promote further the paramount national interest in this sensitive and strategic part of the country and empower the people of Jammu province and Ladakh region to supplement the efforts the bleeding nation has been consistently putting in J&K since 1947 to defeat the evil designs of the terrorist and Sunni-dominated Pakistan and its agents in the over-empowered, over-fed and over-pampered Kashmir Valley.
In a statement, Hindu fundamentalist Hari Om said that, the RSS in its historic resolution had said that the people of Jammu think that the solution to their problems lies in the separate statehood for Jammu region. It had offered its unstinted and unqualified support to the demand. The RSS had also said that branding the demand for the status of statehood for Jammu province as communal would be ignorance or motivated prejudice. It further pointed out that the Jammu province meant all of its districts, including the districts of Poonch, Rajouri and Doda where the Muslims were slightly more than the Hindus. The resolution had also supported the demand for Union Territory status for Ladakh region,. Prof Hari Om reminded the RSS leadership, and added that now is the most appropriate time to give an effect to the 13-year-old resolution in letter and spirit.
Prof Hari Om further reminded the RSS that its national executive had also adopted a resolution on the last day of its two-day meeting at Kurukshetra rejecting autonomy for J&K and favoring abrogation of the separatist, communal and divisive Article 370, and added that what the RSS said in its resolution was what the entire nation sincerely believed in and religiously and consistently fought for. It is the fundamental duty of the RSS to implement what it said at Kurukshetra in the larger national interest and in the interest of the socially and economically ignored and politically marginalized people of Jammu province and Ladakh region, he further said. The founder of Jan Sangh Syama Prasad Mookerjee also had laid down his life in J&K in June 1953 for the objective the RSS highlighted and advocated at its Kurukshetra meet, Professor Har Om also said.
Trifurcation of J&K into Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh States is the exigency of the time and need of the nation, said Prof Hari Om, adding that J&K State came into being in March 1846 by a quirk of history. There is nothing that is common between the three disparate regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, he said, adding that the senseless insistence of New Delhi to throw in the lot of the nationalist people of Jammu province and Ladakh region with the sectarian, backward-looking and secessionist Kashmiri leadership has only hurt the paramount national interests in the state rather than promoting it. The people of Jammu province and Ladakh region sacrificed their social, economic and political rights and interests all these years of the states lawful accession with India under the misguided notion that their supreme sacrifices would change the attitude of the Kashmiri leadership towards the liberal and democratic India, but all of their sacrifices have gone down the drain, Prof Hari Om asserted, adding that the prevailing situation in the Valley should make New Delhi acknowledge that its whole approach towards J&K till date was flawed and not in the larger national interest.
Prof Hari Om expressed the hope that the RSS would appreciate the national requirement and also ask the BJP to come out of the PDP-led coalition government forthwith considering the fact that the intentions of the PDP are not pious as far as the unity and integrity of India is concerned.
