SRINAGAR– J&K Junior Boys football team secured a brilliant victory against Uttarakhand on Wednesday in the ongoing Junior Boys National Football Championship for Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy 2024-25 at Nagaon, Assam.
The J&K youngsters secured a 3-0 win over their opponents, with Aazim scoring a brace and Mujtaba adding the third.
Earlier, the J&K boys trounced Gujarat 5-2 in their opening game of the national championship.
Meanwhile, in the Junior Girls National Football Championship, the J&K girls have been on the losing end of their matches. On Wednesday, they lost 5-1 to Chandigarh. Prachi Sharma scored the lone goal for J&K. This was the team’s third straight loss in the national tournament.
“We deeply appreciate the efforts of both teams. The boys showed remarkable skill and teamwork, while the girls displayed great resilience and spirit despite the challenging conditions. We are confident that they will perform even better in the remaining matches,” the J&K Football Association said in a statement.
