PAC Reviews Developmental Schemes At Anag
Stresses for time bound completion of projects
Anantnag – Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the Chairmanship of MLA, Rafi Ahmed Mir which is currently on tour to Anantnag District today convened a meeting with the district officers and reviewed the status of implementation of various ongoing development schemes in the districts.
The Committee complete took review of development projects under Roads and Building, Public Health, Rural Development and Irrigation sectors. The Members of the Committee, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, . Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Syed Basharat Bukhari and s. Indu Pawar gave their valuable suggestions for effective implementation of these schemes so that the benefits could reach the people.
The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, . Farooq Ahmed Shah informed the Committee about the achievements registered under these sectors during the current financial year. He said that under Roads and Buildings sector, 3 major projects have been taken up which include Aru bridge coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 247.97 lakhs, out of which Rs. 204 lakhs have been incurred, Knofseer Hafatnar road has been completed and Bijbehara Langanbal road length of 5.5 Kms completed at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh besides 150 km road length has been blacktopped in the district till date. . Shah further said that 25 schemes have been taken up in PHE sector which include four schemes under NABARD at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.69 crore and an amount of Rs. 2.67 crore has been incurred so far.
The District hospital which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 59.50 crore and an amount of Rs. 18.16 crore stand spent on this project and one block of the 120 bedded capacity of this hospital will be completed by the end of November 2012. It was also informed that under irrigation sector 36 schemes at a cost of Rs. 185.35 crore are coming up in the district out of which 19 have been completed so far.
The Committee stressed for time bound completion of these projects. The Director Health Services, Kashmir and Director Rural Development also attended the meeting.
