Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir police is an impartial and apolitical force, and the DGP R R Swain’s statement on regional parties hobnobbing with terrorist leaders might have been his personal opinion as Jammu and Kashmir Police is an apolitical force.
The ADGPs remarks came days after the UT police chief R.R Swain claimed that Pakistan had ‘successfully infiltrated all important aspects of civil society, thanks to so-called mainstream or regional politics in the Valley’.
Regional political parties sharply reacted to the statement, with some calling for action against the former for allegedly failing to ‘combat militancy’.
“J&K police is an impartial and apolitical force which operates impartially; hence the views expressed by DGP might be his personal,” Kumar told reporters here in response to a question on how he sees his senior’s statement.
Regarding the arrangements on Yaum-e-Ashura in Srinagar, the ADGP L&O said the J&K police had made elaborate security arrangements in Srinagar and that both the civilians and the police worked in sync to ensure the religious event went off without a hitch.
In his homage to the Karbala victims, Kumar said the suffering endured by Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his courageous allies would benefit mankind for generations to come.
