Ganderbal- The fifth body has been retrieved on Monday morning from Nallah Sindh in Kullan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district where an accident took place on Sunday.
As reported earlier, four persons died after a cab (JK13B-8950) carrying nine persons including the driver rolled down into Sonmarg stream near Gagangheer area yesterday.
“Among the missing two people, one body has been retrieved while the efforts are on to trace another body,” an official told the news agency.
However Gund Police in this regard have already registered a case under FIR number 14/2024, under section 279, 337 IPC at Gund PS.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the loss of lives in a road accident in Sonamarg. In a condolence message, the Lt Governor said: “I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of precious lives in an unfortunate road accident in Sonamarg, Ganderbal today. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. I have issued instructions to the District Administration to render all necessary assistance, as provided in rule, to the affected persons.”
