SRINAGAR: Mr Zaffar Ahmad Bhat (IAS) today assumed charge as the new Director General Information and Public Relations replacing Muneer-ul-Islam, who has been posted as District Development Commissioner Anantnag.
Recipient of Chief Ministers Gold Medal for honesty and integrity, Mr Zaffar has served as Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Secretary Tourism, Excise Commissioner, Director Handicrafts, Special Secretary in Governors Secretariat, Special Secretary Information and Special Secretary in Chief Ministers Secretariat.
He has earlier also served as Director Information for three terms.
Mr Zaffar arrived at the Directorate of Information today to a warm welcome by the employees of the Information Department.
