Rajouri: Social activists of Rajouri Saturday alleged that RSS backed elements want to take control of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU). The university is supervised and controlled by Muslim Waqf Board.
The Muslim Civil Society members and social activists alleged that the ongoing protests in the University were held at the behest of two RSS workers who are the government school teachers. During Amarnath land row, RSS formed an organization called Sangharah Samiti and it is the same organization with the title Sangharash only that is spearheading the movement in BGSBU in Rajouri.
This organization headed by one Government School Teacher Vikrant Sharma has been exploiting some 50 to 60 students in the name of Scholarship Scam and irony is that without waiting for the inquiry report they have been targeting a top University official who has been running the affairs of the University from past couple of years, they said.
It is a game plan of RSS to tarnish the image of the University that is a Waqaf property. The sole objective of the miscreants is to disrupt the peace and take control of the University, a well know social activist said.
They alleged that even some professors groomed by RSS have been instigating the students for strike. Only 50 to 60 students are on strike. These students dont know they are being exploited. With regard to Scholarship Scam, four inquiry teams have been constituted. You cant assassinate the character of Registrar University without knowing or establishing the facts. Let the reports of the Inquiry Committees come and everything will be clear, they said.
Meanwhile the strike in the university continued to affect class work for the 16th consecutive day.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University came into existence by an act of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly called the Jammu & Kashmir Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act No. XVI of 2002. (CNS)
