Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani continued to remain under house arrest and according to his spokesperson the octogenarian leader was again forcibly stopped from offering the Friday congregational prayers by the police today.
Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar condemned the curbs terming the continuous detention as illegal and unconstitutional.
Hurriyat said that extra police force were deployed around the residence of Geelani Sahab this morning and the senior police officers themselves visited Hyderpora and took stock of the situation and issued guidelines to the police personals deployed there.
