Srinagar: Police on Monday said that a tragedy was averted when it detected and defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Safapora area of Ganderbal district in central Kashmir.
A police naka party detected an explosive device which was kept inside a box near J&K bank branch Safapora late last night. The device was later defused in an open ground by Bomb Disposal Squad of Police without causing any damage, thereby averting what could have been a tragedy, a police official said.
