SRINAGAR– The J&K contingent competing at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 was placed 23rd at the culmination of the event in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Thirty-one States/UTs from across the country participated in the games.
The J&K team won 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze medals for a total tally of seven medals. In comparison, Maharashtra, who finished top of the standings, won 57 Gold, 48 Silver and 53 Bronze.
J&K’s lone Gold medal in the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 came via Muskan Rana in the Gymnastics discipline while competing in the RG – Clubs (Girls) category. Muskan also won two Silver medals and one Bronze.
J&K’s fencing boys and girls teams won a Silver medal each. Meanwhile, Bhat Saliq ul Islam won a Bronze medal in the Phunaba Ama – 60 kgs category.
