EVER since the dawn of civilization, people have always discriminatedwomen for reasons uncountable. Every now and then we see umpteen caseswhere peoplede-velop grisly attitude towards women. So many reasonscan be held responsiblefor this degradation but the most importantbeing the negative impacts of internetand television and of course illetracy.
In many villages, education still remains a forbidden fruit for girls.This indifference often leads to many evils and complexes in thesociety. Nowadays crimes related to women are seen in mushroominggrowth be it abductions, molestation or domestic voilence. It ispathetic to see how people who make hollow claims of being educate-dare involved in battery of heinuos crimes.
I am compelled to quote a personal experience here, few days back I and my friends had a cadual discussion about women related crimes. Afriend of mine mentioned an event in which she was harassed by her owncousin! The moment I heard it I had goose bumps on my whole body. Thisspeaks of the highest level of absurdity where boys turn beasts inhuman garb. Who is to be blamed? Girls or boys? Obviously the one whocommits crime. Gone are the days when people were made up of aningredent of moral value within them but now we see that adulterationhas
occured in the minds of people.
People who treat women with no respect are a blot on society. If wesee throughthe lens of value, women are ought to be given highestdegree of respect in our relegion. Islam has not changed, but surelyMuslims have! Veteran Kashmiri leader once requested a sikh leader tostudy Islam, the leader said, Geelani sahab it is not permissible forme to study Islam, but I will study Muslims.
People nowadays tease, and harass women which shows how weak theirmentality and emaan is.
It has become difficult for a girl to trust even her closeaquaintances the sole reason being the degradation taking place in thesociety on the name of modernization.
The society needs to divest itself of such elements that lack moralmoorings other-wise a day would come when a girl won’t not trust herown brother. These are certain points that the masculine gender needsto keep in mind while dealing with the opposites.
