SRINAGAR– Three athletes from Khelo India Centre for Wushu, Handwara Kupwara, have won three medals in the Wushu Women’s League, making a mark in the tournament being held in Uttarakhand.
Khelo India Centre for Wushu trainee, Mehreen Banday, bagged a silver medal after a tough competition from the opponents from fivedifferent states. Other two Wushu athletes, Pakeeza Qureshi and Rasiba, also featured among the medallists, bagging a bronze medal each.
The J&K Sports Council said Saturday while the athletes have been working hard on their skills, the role of the council, led by its Secretary, Nuzhat Gull, and mentoring by national Wushu coach of the country, Kuldeep Handoo, has been of great significance in achieving the feat.
