ALUVA: Excise officials have taken into custody an orphaned youth with one and a half kilo brown sugar. The stuff was given to him along with a visa to Kuwait and flight ticket.
The youth identified as Vishnu Subramanyan (29) of Aluva was arrested by a team led by excise special squad circle inspector Sasikumar. Four persons identified as Ebin Jose (24), Shafi Noushad (21) and Abiq (27) have been taken into custody earlier for trying to smuggle 1.650 kilo of brown sugar. The excise has intensified search to nab the main accused in the case–Ibrahim of Karumalloor, his aides Shamjith, Sinto and Ameen. They are also engaged in smuggling hawala money also.
